Welcomes You!

Nampa, Idaho

WHO WE ARE

We are a non-profit organization established in Nampa, Idaho in 2017. The monastery accommodates resident sangha or community of fully ordained monks and nuns, who aim to set an example of the practice of the teaching in accordance with the teachings of the Buddha. The Buddhist Society of Idaho/Chaiya Meditation Monastery (CMM 2) was founded in August 2018 by Sayardaw U Zeyathuta.  The purpose in founding the Buddhist society/CMM2 is to present  Theravada Buddhism in it's original essence not only to the Karen, Burmese, Thai and Lao communities, but also Americans of all background.

WHAT WE DO

The Focus of Our Efforts

Dharma Teaching

What does dharma actually mean for Buddhists? The simplest definition is that dharma refers to the teachings and doctrines of the Buddha. Dharma includes such fundamental Buddhist principles as the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path. In this context, it’s also referred to in the East as “Buddha-Dharma.”

Meditation

Buddhist meditation practices are techniques that encourage and develop concentration, clarity, emotional positivity, and a calm seeing of the true nature of things. By engaging with a particular meditation practice you learn the patterns and habits of your mind, and the practice offers a means to cultivate new, more positive ways of being.
